The challenge
Hikers loved the idea of Fieldnote but abandoned the beta within days. Logging a walk took eleven taps, and the interface was unreadable in bright sunlight.
Our approach
We cut logging to three taps, added offline maps and designed a high-contrast mode for daylight. A small design system of 40 components let the team ship new features without us.
Every detail designed to work as hard as the big idea.
From the first sketches to the final files, we worked side by side with the Fieldnote Labs team, testing ideas in the real world before polishing a single pixel.
